The Square Kilometre Array (SKA) will be the world's largest and most sensitive radio telescope, about 50 times more sensitive, and up to 10 000 faster (in terms of its survey speed) than the best radio telescopes of today.

Who Can Apply

South African citizens, and permanent residents of South Africa; or citizens of Botswana, Ghana, Kenya, Madagascar, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia and Zambia, who wish to complete a relevant PhD or MSc / MEng degree at a South African university; or South African citizens and citizens of Botswana, Ghana, Kenya, Madagascar, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia and Zambia, who wish to compete a relevant PhD or MSc / MEng degree at a university in an SKA SA partner country.
