Ground Hostess

A Ground Hostess, also known as a Ground Host or Ground Attendant, is responsible for providing excellent customer service to passengers before they board their flights. They work for airlines, airports, and other aviation-related companies. Their primary role is to ensure that passengers have a smooth and pleasant experience while on the ground.


Tasks:

  • Greeting passengers and providing a warm welcome.
  • Checking the passengers' tickets, passports, and other travel documents.
  • Assisting passengers with their luggage.
  • Directing passengers to the correct gates and boarding areas.
  • Helping passengers with any special needs or requirements, such as wheelchair assistance.
  • Coordinating with other airline and airport staff to ensure a smooth boarding process.
  • Responding to passenger inquiries and resolving any issues or complaints.
  • Providing information about flight schedules, delays, and cancellations.

A diploma in travel and tourism or a related field and previous experience in customer service, hospitality, or aviation is an advantage.

  • National Senior Certificate (Matric) or equivalent.
