The Chinese Government is offering scholarships for South African students to study at Chinese institutions. The Department of Higher Education and Training is responsible for nominations. The scholarship may be awarded for undergraduate (Bachelors) in the identified scarce skills, postgraduate (Masters or PhD) or non-degree Chinese language studies. Bachelor’s degree scholarships are taught in Chinese and will only be awarded to applicants who already have the required level of Chinese proficiency (HSK 4 or above). Preference is given to applications for postgraduate studies.

The FNB Fund Bursary Programme provides tertiary education access for learners who are academically capable but financially disadvantaged.

The fellowship is offered by the World Bank in partnership with governments in Eastern and Southern Africa and aims to support young African female scientists. This initiative aims to improve the quality of training and research in higher education, and to reduce the skill gaps in key development priority areas.

Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World (OWSD) is offering fellowships for women scientists from Sub-Saharan Africa and Least Developed Countries (LDC). The fellowships are awarded to pursue postgraduate studies leading to a doctorate degree in all branches of the natural sciences at a centre of excellence (renowned research institutions/universities) in the South (developing countries) outside applicant’s home country.

The PSA annually awards study bursaries (minimum of R3 000 each to a maximum of R10 000 depending on availability of funds) to public servants and/or PSA members and their dependant children, who have been employed in the Public Service or have been a PSA member for at least twelve months on the closing date of the year in which a bursary is applied for.

The Queens Commonwealth Scholarships in South Africa are offering scholarships for Master’s and PhD study to students wanting to undertake post-graduate Master's studies at the following universities: University of Pretoria (UP) – all Master's courses are available. To promote innovation in South African sugarcane agriculture, the South African Sugarcane Research Institute (SASRI) hosts a dynamic post-graduate programme on the SASRI campus in Mount Edgecome, KwaZulu-Natal. The Necsa Learning Academy of Necsa is offering a training programme in Radiation Protection (RP). The programme will run for a period of 12 months. The training programme will be on Radiation Protection (NQF Level 4). There will be both theoretical and practical training.
