In our quest to develop African researchers for African development, we’re seeking intellectually curious postgraduate students who are study towards a Masters degree in economics or related field and who have a passion for real-world development.

Who Can Apply

You must be a Masters student in your final year of study towards am economics or related qualification. Diversity Bursary opportunity is strictly open to Employment Equity candidates who can verify their need for financial support and who are South African citizens. A strong interest in research-related activities and a passion for development A GPA of 60% or higher, across all subjects, in the current or most recent academic year of enrolment at a higher education institution

Our bursary programme offers you: Full financial support for your studies (tuition, book and laptop allowance, a generous stipend for accommodation, food and transport) A dedicated mentor to guide you through the academic year The opportunity to gain work experience while studying, through at least six weeks of paid internship time onsite at Cenfri’s offices in Durbanville (Cape Town) Good prospects to join our team of research analysts full-time after graduation and on successful completion of the programme
