The role of DevOps is becoming increasingly important as an approach to rolling out, maintaining and improving operational efficency within a business. The focus of DevOps is to combine and unify code and systems. Under a DevOps model, development and operations teams work as an integrated team (not is siloes). All departments within the organisation are merged into a single team for the duration of the softweare development cycle. As such successful DevOps adoption depends on changes to culture and process, this may just deepen the disconnect between developers and operational teams. These teams use practices to automate processes that historically have been manual and slow. They use a technology stack and tooling which help them operate and evolve applications quickly and reliably. These tools also help engineers independently accomplish tasks (for example, deploying code or provisioning infrastructure) that normally would have required help from other teams. One of the chief benefits of DevOps processes is the speed of innovation which allows for adaption to changing markets. Source: https://aws.amazon.com/devops/what-is-devops/
